About

“Plastic is Good” = The cure for Plastiphobia (irrational fear of plastic).

This site aims to educate the independent thinker or just the uninformed on the benefits and the use of plastics in daily life and understand the environmental impact of plastic vs. various materials (glass, paper and metal) through fact-based data and life cycle analysis.

Explore what foundations, industry and Brands are doing to design eco-friendlier packaging/products and aid in the collection and reuse of materials.

The information presented here does not mean that all of us do not need to do our part to choose the right materials for the application, use less of them and be responsible to collect and recycle any material for reuse.

There must be responsibility for each link in the chain:

The Brand/manufacturer is responsible to design and produce the best product /package for the environment/application.

The store/distributor is responsible for the product/ materials until the consumer buys it.

The consumer needs to be accountable to manage that item/package until they can deliver to a proper disposal/recycling means.

The town/state/federal governments need to ensure those materials are recycled or sent to waste to energy…

If the material ends up in the environment, it is human behavior or irresponsibility based on ownership of the product (no matter the material) in the product life cycle.

We need to teach and preach individual responsibility vs passing the buck and blaming others. We need to hold the right party accountable and that may be the consumer or the waste hauler and not the name on the package that was not disposed of properly.
